Tim Tebow is at peace.

As he greeted honorees and guest at his fourth annual Tim Tebow Celebrity Gala in Florida over the weekend, Tebow rarely talked football, or if he feels he will ever again get the NFL shot he so clearly craves.

Instead, Jacksonville.com reports, Tebow focussed on people like 14-year-old cancer survivor Ansley Jones, and how her ailment is now said to be in remission.

One grateful parent after another stepped to the podium to give thanks to the former Heisman Trophy winner and rave about how he visited and encouraged their kids to have strength as they battled their illnesses. In all, the newspaper reports Tebow's Wish Foundation was hosting 20 or so children and their families during the two-day event.

"I'm still trying, we're always trying, that journey's never done and you're always trying to improve," Tebow told the website. "Improve as a person, improve as a leader, improve as a philanthropist, a football player. Every day it's a journey and it's fun. This is one of my favorite weekends of the year."

As for football, Tebow told Jacksonville.com "I'm training nonstop, I feel like I'm the best I've ever been, working extremely hard, just loving it. Passionate about life right now, passionate about football, passionate about my foundation and the impact we're making. It's fun."

Tebow has been out of football since he was released by the Patriots last August and largely out of the public eye since. He recently signed with ESPN to be an analyst for their new SEC network, but has made no secret about his hope of someday returning to play quarterback in the NFL.

Tebow has played three NFL seasons, his best coming with Broncos in 2011, when he passed for 1,729 yards and 12 touchdowns
