Two clubs in the top half of the Liga MX table will do battle today in a league match between Cruz Azul and Tijuana. The first-division clash scheduled for 7 p.m. ET will be held at the Estadio Azul in Mexico City. Information on how and where to stream the match can be found here.

For Cruz Azul, today’s match couldn’t have come any sooner. A pair of losses plagued La Máquina’s week. A shocking 3-0 loss to the Tigres of U.A.N.L. at home—the club’s first of the season—was followed by a 1-0 loss to MLS outfit Sporting Kansas City in the CONCACAF Champions League. Returning to their winning ways remains the priority in Week 11.

The same can be said for Los Xolos of Tijuana.

The club too suffered a 1-0 loss to the Los Angeles Galaxy in the CONCACAF Champions League. The match—considered a derby of sorts—put a damper on the 2-0 victory Tijuana captured at home against Chivas Guadalajara last weekend.

Both clubs are looking to capture an intensely battled three points in Mexico City, but who will earn them when the final whistle blows?

Tactical Preview

Player to Watch: It’s not often you see the lone-striker in a 4-2-3-1 formation lead the club in assists, but that’s exactly what Mariano Pavone is doing in 2014. The 31-year-old has found other ways to contribute, matching his two goals with four assists.

Cruz Azul’s Previous Lineup (4-2-3-1): Corona; Pinto, Juárez, Martinez, Quezada; Castro, Baez; Mora, Rojas, Formica; Pavone

Tijuana’s Previous Lineup (5-3-2): Saucedo; Gandolfi, Pellerano, Núñez, Garza, Castro; Crespin, Toledo, Gümez; Ayovi, Gomez
