The Houston Rockets are the latest team to indicate they plan to be players in the Carmelo Anthony free agency sweepstakes this summer.

According to ProBasketballTalk.com, "the Rockets will make a bid for Anthony this summer, even though they probably won't have cap space and would have to orchestrate a creative sign-and-trade."

Salivating at the idea of being able to add the high-scoring Anthony to a core trio that already includes Dwight Howard, James Harden and Chandler Parsons, ProBasketballTalk adds the Rockets contacted the Knicks about Anthony's availability around last month's trade deadline.

Anthony has long indicated he plans to opt out of his deal this summer, even though the Knicks can offer him some $30 million more than any other team. The Bulls and Lakers are also rumored to be interested in Anthony, who ranks second in the league in scoring behind OKC's Kevin Durant.

On the season, the 29-year-old Anthony is averaging 28 points and eight rebounds for the Knicks and has scored at least 30 points in 21 games, including a Madison Square Garden record 62 against Charlotte back in late January.
