Today at 12:30 p.m. ET, the Detroit Red Wings (29-21-13, 71 points) and New York Rangers (34-26-4, 72 points) faceoff live from Madison Square Garden in New York City in the third and final meeting against one another. The game can be live streamed here. Detroit fans can hear all of the action on 97.1 The Ticket while New York fans can do the same on 98.7 ESPN Radio.

Detroit has lost two of its last three games while New York has lost two of its last five games. The Rangers search for the season sweep after beating the Red Wings 3-2 in overtime on Oct. 26 in Detroit and then 1-0 on Jan. 16 in New York.

The Rangers were powered by the return of Mats Zuccarello, who came back from a hand injury and sparked the team to a 4-2 victory over the Carolina Hurricanes on Friday.

"He didn't miss a beat," coach Alain Vigneault told NHL.com. "He was real solid."

Zuccarello (15-29-44) was the team's top scorer prior to the Olympic break but he's now third behind Brad Richards (16-29-45) and new import Martin St. Louis (29-33-62), who picked up his first point with his new team on Friday but collected all of his other points with the Tampa Bay Lightning.

The Red Wings revamped their top line by acquiring David Legwand from the Predators and pairing him with Gustav Nyquist and Johan Franzen.

"They're world-class players," said Legwand, per NHL.com "Obviously, Gus is speed and skill and Mule [Franzen] is a big body that can skate. He's deadly from the top of the circles in, and he's a big body that loves to go to the net."

The Red Wings have been paced by Henrik Zetterberg (16-32-48), but he is sidelined with a back injury. Legwand (11-32-43), who picked up most of his points with Nashville, and Niklas Kronwall (7-33-40) are atop the score sheet behind Zetterberg.

In net, Jimmy Howard will likely start for Detroit and is 13-14-10 with a 2.64 goals-against average and a .912 save percentage while Henrik Lundqvist will make his fifth consecutive start for New York and looks for his 300th career win. Lundqvist is 23-20-4 with a 2.55 GAA and a .914 save percentage this season.

Two Original Six teams go head to head when the Red Wings and Rangers hit the ice at Madison Square Garden today in New York City.
