Michael Vick rumors [VIDEO]: Vick to Vikings? Adrian Peterson says Vick 'would definitely make Vikings a playoff team'

Quarterback Michael Vick is looking for a new team while the Minnesota Vikings are looking for a new veteran quarterback, and running back Adrian Peterson connected the dots on Twitter Wednesday night, tweeting that the Vikes should sign Vick.

The Vikings have been preparing to dip into the free agent market for a veteran signal caller in hopes to improve the team, and the franchise running back said in a since-deleted tweet that he believes that not only would Vick be a good addition to Minnesota, but he'd also make them a playoff team.

Vick, who is turning 34 in June, started just six games for the Philadelphia Eagles last season before losing his job to Nick Foles following a hamstring injury and hasn't played in more than 13 games per season since 2006.

While Vick's style of play may not mesh with head coach Norv Turner's offensive style, the Vikings are desperate to make anything work and with the team being in the hunt for a new signal caller, Vick may not be automatically ruled out. He has one endorsement from Peterson, who rushed for 1,266 yards on 279 carries for 10 touchdowns, at the very least.

Christian Ponder is currently the only Vikings quarterback under contract after Matt Cassel opted out of his 2014 deal in February and Josh Freeman is now a free agent as well. In addition to Cassel and Freeman, the free agent pool of quarterbacks is thin as Josh McCown and David Garrard round out the field of free agents.

The Vikings have the eighth pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, and could very well draft a quarterback, however the team seems to want a veteran under center.

Vick went 77-for-141 (54.6%) for 1,215 yards with five touchdowns and three interceptions through six games with the Eagles last season. Vick signed with Philadelphia in 2009 after serving a 21-month prison sentence for a dog fighting ring and after being reinstated in the NFL by commissioner Roger Goodell.

Vick has been plagued by injuries the last few years and has only played 16 games once in his career.

The veteran quarterback could very well end up with the Vikings to start the season as the team looks to improve on a 5-10-1 2013 campaign.
