Tyson Chandler to leave Knicks? May request trade as expiring contract? [VIDEO]

Tyson Chandler is the latest New York Knicks player to hint that he may want out the first chance he gets as the once prideful NBA franchise continues to struggle.

Like star forward Carmelo Anthony, Chandler has a better chance than most to can walk away from the mess that is the Knicks this summer. Though not a free-agent, Chandler will be facing the last year on his deal, and thus his expiring contract will have even more value.

"That's something I have to visit during the offseason," Chandler told BleacherReport.com. "We're all going to have a lot of decisions to make."

Ironically enough, Knicks management seems of the mind keeping the former Defensive Player of the year in the fold could go a long way in convincing Anthony to remain on board. Other than young talents Tim Hardaway Jr. and Iman Shumpert, and, of course, Anthony, Chandler is still viewed as one of the Knicks most valuable assets.

The Knicks are a woeful 21-35 this season and far from playoff contention in the watered-down Eastern Conference. Coach Mike Woodson has spent all season on the hot-seat and it's still debatable if he will even be allowed to finish out this season.
