The Miami Heat Big 3 of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh insist they are done with taking lesser contracts in the name of NBA championships.
With rumors abounding that the Heat might even be open to adding free-agent to be Carmelo Anthony to the mix, the mainstays are letting it be known that it will all have to come with a hefty price.
The Big Three insists it is past the point of taking fewer dollars than they might otherwise be able to collect. The days of James, Wade and Bosh sacrificing millions for the good of the team are over, according The New York Daily News. Even if it's in the name of adding a jewel such as Anthony.
Indeed, the insane may well make perfect sense to Anthony in the wake of a Knicks' season that has gone so wrong the team now finds itself far removed from the Eastern conference playoff chase.
"I was laughing with somebody and just saying, 'Murphy's Law,' Anthony told The News on the same Thursday the Knicks were routed by the Heat 108-82,= at American Airlines Arena. "Anything that can go wrong has gone wrong for us."
That seems an understatement in a season where J.R. Smith has endured a drug suspension, Raymond Felton has been arrested on gun charges and Metta World Peace flamed out in his hometown return.
"There's a lot of options," said Anthony. Things are going to be thought about when that time comes. Off the court and on the court. A lot of things will have to be put on the table."
