Metta World Peace to Miami Heat? South Beach perfect spot to jump start career? [VIDEO]

Could the Miami Heat locker room use a little Metta World Peace?

BasketballInsiders.com is reporting the two-time defending NBA champs might have some interest in adding the eccentric free-agent forward to the mix as they gear up for their final-stretch run in hopes of becoming the first NBA team to three-peat in nearly two decades.

The Knicks bought out World Peace last week, and since that time he's attracted attention from the likes of the Clippers, Thunder and Bulls. In 29 games with the Knicks this season, World Peace averaged 4.8 points and two rebounds in 13.4 minutes (all of which are career-lows).

More recently, World Peace was rumored to be in L.A., though it was uncertain if had anything to do with the Clippers or was merely a case of coincidence. To have a chance with any team, World Peace may have to be open to signing a 10-day contract to prove he can still be a productive player, similar to what such vets as Kenyon Martin and Chris "Birdman" Andersen have recently done.

In 15 NBA seasons, World Peace has averaged 14 points, five rebounds and three assists, and early in his career was regarded as one of the league's best defenders.
