Johnny Manziel says Houston Texans should draft him [VIDEO]

Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel, the first freshman in NCAA history to capture college football's highest individual honor, wants to play for the Houston Texans and is hoping that the team will tab him with the first selection in the upcoming NFL Draft.

Manziel is currently in San Diego working nine hours a day training with George Whitfield Jr. with the goal that his native Texans will draft him come May. As reported by the Houston Chronicle, Manziel is working hard because as he says: "I want everybody from the janitor at Reliant Stadium to the front office executive assistant all the way up to (owner) Bob McNair to say, 'This kid is 100 percent, can't miss. This is who we want being the face of our program. We want the Texas kid staying in Texas and leading the Texans.'"

In case the Texans pass up on him and he eventually falls to Jacksonville at number 3, the flamboyant quarterback told reporters as quoted by Houston Chronicle: "It would be the worst decision they've ever made. I'd be in the same division playing against them twice a year. Sorry, but you just turned that chip on my shoulder from a Frito into a Dorito."

Manziel was also honest about his desire to separate himself from the "Johnny Football" image he had in college during which he became the subject of an NCAA probe as well as for his alcohol and anger issues. He says about that image: "I was a kid who made some goofball decisions. That's been part of my journey. Maybe it's part of the whole Johnny Football deal that I'm trying to get away from. I'm trying to show people I've grown up, and I've learned from my experiences. I feel like you're a stupid person if you continue to make the same wrong decisions.
