John Cena Injury [VIDEO]: Cena Kept Off RAW Because Of Scratched Cornea? Will Cenation Leader Return Soon?

John Cena was kept off of Sunday's live event and then Monday's episode of RAW due to an eye injury he sustained Saturday night as the WWE tries to keep their top star from sustaining any further damage to his eye with WrestleMania XXX buildup in full swing.

According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, Cena was kept off of the show on Monday night due to swelling in his eye. Cena sustained the eye injury during a match at a live event on Saturday against WWE World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton.

The WWE believed that they should give Cena at least a week to heel following the injury so that he didn't look bad on T.V. Cena made an appearance in front of the RAW crowd after the cameras stopped rolling Monday night to save Daniel Bryan from a beat down at the hands of Kane and Orton.

According to the report, Cena sustained the Injury against Orton on Saturday when he caught a finger nail in his eye. The WWE had feared that Cena suffered a scratched cornea during the match, however it turned out not to be the case. The report indicates that Cena was kept off of T.V. by the WWE so that there wouldn't have to be a close-up on Cena's face since his eye looked bad.

It was announced that John Cena will take on Randy Orton on next week's edition of RAW, ending the specuation that his eye injury will keep him off television for the forseeable future.

Cena is slated to participate at the Feb. 23 Elimination Chamber event at the Target Center in Minneapolis when he'll be placed in the Chamber match against Orton, Daniel Bryan, Sheamus, Antonio Cesaro and Christian for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

Cena is also expected to take on Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania XXX in a one-on-one match, and while the seeds have already been planted for their eventual showdown, the WWE will likely continue building towards it when Cena returns to T.V.

Cena missed this week's show, but he's expected to be on RAW next Monday to continue the build up towards the Elimination Chamber and WrestleMania XXX since he was able to avoid serious damage to his eye.
