The first time these two teams met, the Penguins beat the Sabres 4-1 in Pittsburgh on Oct. 5.

The Penguins return home after suffering a 3-0 loss against the Stars Saturday in Dallas.

''They capitalized on their power plays. We didn't,'' captain Sidney Crosby said per NHL.com. ''We didn't execute when we got chances. They carried the play for the first two periods.''

Crosby leads the Penguins with 72 points off of 27 goals and 45 assists while Chris Kunitz has 25 markers and 28 helpers for 53 points and Evgeni Malkin has found the twine 14 times and added 37 assists for 51 points. Malkin and Crosby have five points each in their last five games.

The Sabres are coming off of a 5-2 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets that ended the Jackets' eight-game winning streak as the Sabres played spoiler against a team looking for much needed points in a tight Metropolitan Division.

''It feels good. It feels good to be a spoiler,'' Marcus Foligno said via NHL.com. ''The odds were against us, they were on a roll and have been playing pretty well. Their power play's been good and we got two goals off of it, which is great.''

The Sabres have been paced by Matt Moulson, who has 30 points off of 15 goals and 15 assists while Cody Hodgson has eight points in his last seven games and has lit the lamp 12 times while adding 15 helpers for 27 points and Tyler Ennis has found the back of the net 11 times and added 12 assists for 23 points.

Ryan Miller is likely to start for Buffalo and is 13-19-3 with a 2.62 goals-against average and a .926 save percentage while Marc-Andre Fleury will likely man the crease for Pittsburgh and is 28-12-1 with a 2.31 GAA and a .931 save percentage this season.

The Sabres look to string together back-to-back wins while the Penguins hope to continue their solid play at home when the lights come up tonight at the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh.
