Michael Crabtree Once Tried To 'Beat Up' Richard Sherman? Seahawks vs. 49ers Rivalry Deeper Than The Surface? [VIDEO]

Michael Crabtree once tried to beat up Richard Sherman at a charity event held by Arizona Cardinals star receiver Larry Fitzgerald, according to BlackSportsOnline.com.

The website reports Sherman has been angered by the event since it happened last summer and at the time vowed he would someday "embarrass" Crabtree.

Sherman got his wish on Sunday, when after his Seattle Seahawks knocked off Crabtree's San Francisco 49ers 23-17, he went on a mini-rant where he ridiculed Crabtree as just "mediocre."

After defending Crabtree on the play that led to the Seahawks' game-winning interception, Sherman blurted during his his post game TV interview "I was making sure everybody knew that Crabtree was a mediocre receiver. And when you try the best corner in the game with a mediocre receiver, that's what happens. Game."

Spectacular as Sherman's game-winning play may have been, BlackSports now reports it may have been about a little bit more than just a berth in th4e Super Bowl XLVIII against Denver.

According to the website, Sherman's brother tells the tale of when the Pro Bowl DB tried to shake Crabtree's hand at Fitzgerald's event, the receiver tried to start a fight . It was then that Sherman reportedly vowed "I'm going to make a play and embarrass him."

After Sunday's win, Sherman went even further, telling reporters "Crabtree is a sorry player who's not in the top 20 of NFL receivers."
