Dwyane Wade, Gabrielle Union Affair: Miami Heat Star Says He's 'Better Now,' New Son A Blessing [VIDEO]

Dwyane Wade pronounces himself "better now" after a year during which he fathered a child not born to Hollywood actress fiancee Gabrielle Union.

"Brought the NewYrs in with my beautiful fiancé and great friends," he recently wrote on social media. "2013 was filled with ups and downs...without them u can't grow. So I'm better now becuz of them. 2014 I'm ready...#UnionWade."

The 31-year-old Wade recently confirmed he is the father of Xavier Zechariah Wade, born on Nov. 10 to mom Aja Metoyer. Wade adds he briefly became involved with the 30-year-old Metoyer while he and Union were on a "break."

Either way, all seems well now as Wade has also described the birth of his new son as a "blessing." The Miami Heat star and three time NBA champ also recently told HollywoodLife.com "yeah, I had a time ... in our pain and our hurt, but a blessing came out of it in my life, having a son that was born healthy."

Wade has two other children with first wife Siohvaughn Funches, both of whom he has sole custody of. He reportedly has also legally adopted his young nephew.

"You know me, I'm involved in my kids' lives," he told HollywoodLife. "When my kids were living at home with me, or wasn't living at home with me, I tried to do everything I could to see them. It would compromise it if I wasn't a father first."

Wade later added "I'm always going to be a father first. That doesn't change. If you decide to when you can be a father, that's when it compromises. But, like I said, this is something, obviously, private for my family that we will continue to deal with as a family but we have a blessing to the bloodline, to the Wade bloodline. And from that standpoint, it doesn't, to me, state anything differently from what I've always shown."
