Derrick Rose Injury Update: 'Doing Fine' In Rehab, Aiming For Chicago Bulls Playoff Return? [VIDEO]

Derrick Rose is "doing fine" on his road to rehabbing from his second major knee surgery in less than two years, Chicago Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau told ESPN this week.

"He's coming along," Thibodeau added, insisting he may soon be ready to sit on the bench with his teammates during games. "Probably in a few weeks," said Thibodeau, stressing that Rose has already began hanging around the Bulls' practice facility and hanging out with his teammates.

Rose tore the medial meniscus in his right knee on Nov. 22, prematurely ending his season for the second straight year and throwing the Bulls title-winning hopes into the doldrums.

Rose was immediately ruled out for the season after his surgery but left the door open for a possible playoff return during his first remarks to reporters a few weeks ago.

"He can lift with his upper body and do all his rehab stuff," Thibodeau told ESPN, while basically remaining mum about all the potential playoff return talk. "He's starting to move around a little bit more now. He can go in the pool and things like that."

Injuries have been a big part of the Bulls thus far this season. Center Joakim Noah remains listed as day-to-day with a hip injury and starting small forward Luol Deng is expected to miss more time as he recovers from an Achilles injury.
