Every Sunday, Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt's previously-injured nose bleeds, but there is one person who can't stand seeing the hulking All-Pro player's nose bleeding on a weekly basis--his mother.
Watt suffered a deep cut and required six stitches on the bridge of his nose during Houston's 23-20 Week 4 loss to the Seattle Seahawks and the wound hasn't fully healed.
The injury has continued to open up in every game since the Week 4 loss to the Seahawks and the defensive end told the Associated Press that he will consider getting his nose fixed at the request of his mom and he is ready to consider plastic surgery after the season is over.
"She hates it," Watt said of the injury, according to The Associated Press.
According to the report, Watt said that surgery may not be necessary because the injury may heal on its own. Watt also noted that the cut on his nose looked a lot better after the team's bye week but it still began to bleed during the very next game in a 27-24 loss to the Indianapolis Colts on Nov. 3.
"Once it gets time to heal up and rest, it goes back to pretty normal," he told the Associated Press "We'll see what happens. If it doesn't heal itself, then I will look into getting it fixed."
After two straight seasons of winning the AFC South title and just one year removed from a franchise-best 12-4 record, Watt, who has 9.5 sacks, is the lone bright spot on a terrible Texans team that has lost a franchise-record 13 straight games and is 2-13. Houston wraps up its season against the Titans in Tennessee this Sunday.
The Texans will miss the playoffs for the first time since 2010, which unfortunately for Watt means he'll have plenty of time to fulfill his mom's wish by fixing his nose during the offseason.
