Kevin Durant, the all-time leading scorer for Team USA in Olympic basketball, found a new source of inspiration at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games - Simone Biles. Durant's heart has been struck by seeing how extraordinary Biles is in gymnastics.

Durant was one among many who saw Biles do amazing things up close, as she went on to clinch four medals during this summer games. He also recently moved past Lisa Leslie to become the United States Olympic Basketball team's top scorer with 494 points and counting.

"I'd never been to a gymnastic event up close like that," Durant told The Athletic. "Obviously, I'd watched [gymnastics] on TV, but it's different when you're there. And just to see her greatness, along with the other girls who put so much time into their craft, it's just amazing to see how great they've become."

Social Media Admiration

Throughout the games, Durant continued to demonstrate his admiration for Biles. A prolific X user, he tweeted about her incredible performance in the air, even joking about how she could "catch a lob and finish." In addition, he mentioned that her calves made him envious, which comically highlighted her athleticism.

Durant is currently focused on adding another gold medal to his collection at the Tokyo Olympics as Team USA faces off against Serbia in Thursday's semi-final match.
