The France national team was without their best player during their second group stage match of the UEFA Euro 2024 tournament on Friday, June 21, at the Red Bull Arena in Leipzig, Germany.

Kylian Mbappe remained on the bench for Didier Deschamps' side after sustaining a broken nose during their tournament opener against Austria last Monday.

France went on to play out a goalless draw at the end of 90 minutes, with a potential game-winning goal by Netherlands midfielder Xavi Simons in the 68th minute being disallowed due to an offside during the build-up of the play.

Despite their stalemate, which was the first goalless match of the Euro 2024 tournament, both France and Netherlands have qualified for the knockout stages ahead of their groupmates Austria and Poland in Group D.

The Les Bleus' final group stage match will be against Poland on Tuesday, June 25, at the Signal Iduna Park in Dortmund.

Kylian Mbappe shows emotions at France's bench

The incoming Real Madrid signing was restless on France's bench during the game as his teammates failed to capitalize on several golden opportunities to open the scoring.

French midfielder Adrien Rabiot and forward Antoine Griezmann notably missed two chances for the two-time FIFA World Cup champions.

France has now failed to win in their last seven games, during which Mbappe did not start.
