The New York Knicks poked fun at the team that eliminated them in the 2024 NBA playoffs.
Knicks players Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart spoke on their "Roommates Show" podcast, discussing what they told Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton after his team was swept by the top-seeded Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals.
Brunson shared that he and Hart had a conversation with Haliburton, during which Hart spilled the details.
"Y'all couldn't get one win? After three leads in the fourth? Obviously if we moved on, [Jalen Brunson] wouldn't have been playing, I would have tried to play, I don't know how I would have been. Damn, we could've did that... At least get one," Hart said on the show.
The Knicks and Pacers battled it out in a grueling seven-game series in the Eastern Conference Semifinals. The Pacers came out on top in the decisive Game 7 amid several key injuries for New York.
Indiana Pacers got swept despite having leads in crunch time
After getting past the Knicks, the Pacers were swept by the top-seeded Boston Celtics, who had a league-best 64 wins in the regular season.
Despite the sweep, most of the games were competitive, with the Pacers holding leads in crunch time before squandering them away.
In Game 1, Indiana held a three-point lead with 8.1 seconds remaining; in Game 3, they were up by eight points with 2:38 left. Similarly, in Game 4, they maintained an eight-point lead with 5:36 remaining.
