The Las Vegas Aces have made a significant decision early in the 2024 WNBA season.

Opting for change, the reigning WNBA champions have chosen to release rookie point guard Dyaisha Fair.

Las Vegas chose the 22-year-old as the 16th overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, and she demonstrated promise during training camp to secure a spot on the Aces' roster.

However, her playing time was notably limited in the initial two weeks of the season.

Then, she was cut from the team one day following her WNBA debut against the Indiana Fever on Saturday, May 25, wherein she contributed only two assists and missed both of her field goal attempts in four minutes.

Dyaisha Fair's rank in the NCAA's all-time scoring list

The Rochester native has had a memorable college career, playing for in-state teams Buffalo Bulls from 2019 to 2022 before transferring to the Syracuse Orange from 2022 to 2024.

During that time, she scored a total of 3,403 points.

This total makes her the third all-time leading scorer in NCAA women's Division I basketball history, trailing only the all-time top scorer, Indiana Fever rookie and former Iowa Hawkeyes star Caitlin Clark, with 3,951 points. The second-place player is former Las Vegas Aces teammate Kelsey Plum, who spent four years with the Washington Huskies and scored 3,527 points.
