Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is no stranger to carrying huge expectations before his first professional game, and he offered advice to Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark, arguably the most anticipated prospect in WNBA history.

James discussed the former Iowa Hawkeyes star on his "Mind The Game" podcast with co-host JJ Redick.

"My advice to Caitlin, and my advice to anyone that comes in with this level of notoriety, out-of-this-world expectation, whatever the case may be: Be a horse, man. The Kentucky Derby. Put your blinders on, go to work, show up to work, punch your clock in, prepare yourself, work on your game, work on your craft," the four-time NBA champion stated.

James offered more advice to Clark, noting his own path in the league where he entered as one of the most anticipated prospects in NBA history in 2003.

"But for her individually I don't think she should get involved with nothing that's being said. Just go have fun, enjoy. But I'm rooting for Caitlin because I've been in that seat before, I've walked that road before. I hope she kills," the NBA's all-time leading scorer said.

Clark has had a rocky start in the WNBA, with the fever starting the season at 0-4. The 22-year-old has averaged 17.0 points on 41.2% shooting but has a high 6.5 turnovers per game.
