The New York Knicks are on the brink of advancing to the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 2000 after taking a commanding 3-2 lead in their Eastern Conference Semifinals series against the Indiana Pacers.

The Knicks secured a significant 121-91 victory in the pivotal Game 5 of the series on Tuesday, May 14, at the Madison Square Garden, with star guard Jalen Brunson playing a significant role in the win.

Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau discussed the best part about the 27-year-old aside from his abilities on the court.

"As much as you talk about him a lot and rightfully so, it's not enough about what he means to the team. He's so willing to share everything with his teammates. To me, that's the best part of him," the 66-year-old told the media in the post-game press conference.

Brunson dropped 44 points on 18-of-35 shooting, adding four rebounds and seven assists in another huge postseason performance from the former Villanova Wildcat.

Jalen Brunson's scoring outburst unheard of since a prime LeBron James

Brunson put up his fifth 40+ point game in this year's playoffs, the most in a single postseason since LeBron James scored more than 40 eight times during the Cavaliers' 2018 playoff run, considered by some as the best in his storied career.

The Knicks star also reclaimed the top spot as the top scorer of the 2024 NBA Playoffs with an average of 33.9 points in 11 games.

The 6-foot-1 point guard has been dealing with a couple of foot injuries during this playoff run, but it hasn't stopped him from showing out.
