Aaron Hernandez Murder Case Update: Odin Lloyd's Family Sues Former New England Patriot For Wrongful Death [VIDEO]

Aaron Hernandez has been sued by the family of Odin Lloyd in a legal action that seeks upwards of at least $1.25 million.

ESPN reports the family of the 27-year-old former semi-pro football player names the now jailed one-time New England Patriots tight end in a wrongful death suit filed last week that also seeks a real estate attachment up to $5 million.

In addition, the family also seeks a court order aimed at preventing the Patriots from paying the former Florida star more than the $3 million he is seeking in unpaid contractual payments.

Hernandez, 24, has pleaded not guilty to murder in the June execution-style shooting death of Lloyd, whose bullet-riddled body was found less than a mile away from his North Attleborough mansion.

Since being taken into custody in late June, Hernandez has been held without bail and relegated to solitary confinement at the Bristol County Jail. Hernandez also continues to be the subject of a second grand jury investigation probing his alleged involvement in a 2012 drive-by, double homicide in downtown Boston.

Police later recovered the vehicle believed to be used in that crime stored in the garage of a home owned by a man since identified as Hernandez's uncle.
