Is Khloe Kardashian finally guilty of some common sense?
People Magazine is reporting that the 29-year-old Kardashian and Los Angeles Dodgers star outfielder Matt Kemp are not dating. People cites a source that said Kardashian is too "heartbroken right now" over her filing for divorce from NBA player Lamar Odom to pursue another relationship.
The furor about a budding courtship between Kemp and Kardashian arose over the weekend when Kemp posted a photo of a lit Christmas tree on Instagram that the public took to be from Kris Jenner's house. TMZ Sports, however, reported that the photo in question actually was taken from Kemp's house.
TMZ Sports added that Kemp lives roughly in the same neighborhood as the Kardashians, and the foyer in his house is nearly identical to theirs.
Kardashian also was spotted following Kemp to a gym in Los Angeles.
"They are just friends and have been for a long time," a source tells PEOPLE of the relationship buzz, spurred by the baseball star's Instagram post of Kris Jenner's Christmas tree on Thursday. "Khloe is absolutely heartbroken right now (over Lamar) and dating someone is the last thing she's thinking about."
Another Kardashian source couldn't leave well enough alone, leaving the door open on a possible Kemp-Kardashian hookup in the future.
"It could be heading (toward romantic) in the future, but Khloe wasn't spending time with him when she was still with Lamar," the source told People. "She absolutely wasn't. People need to remember that she and Lamar haven't lived together since June."
TMZ Sports cornered the 29-year-old Kemp on Tuesday and asked him how things are going in his love life. Kemp replied, "In my love life? No love life, man; just focused on baseball."
When the camera operator asked specifically about Kardashian, Kemp did not respond and a security guard came out and escorted out the operator.
