Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young has found himself at the center of numerous trade rumors from various teams aiming to make a leap.
The 25-year-old expressed his desire to stay in Atlanta during an episode of his podcast "From The Point."
"Everybody knows that I want to be in Atlanta. When I was drafted here, I said that I wanted to spend my whole career here, but at the same time, I want to win," the three-time NBA All-Star said.
However, Young suggested he couldn't endure many more seasons of being on a noncompetitive team.
"There are times that teams want to be slow with winning and a process but I am not there anymore, like I want to win and I have always been that way, I feel like I don't have very much time to waste," the 2022 All-NBA Third Team member added.
The Hawks have been mediocre for the past few years
Over the last three seasons, the Hawks have competed in the play-in tournament, advancing to the playoffs in 2022 and 2023.
However, they experienced first-round exits on both occasions, losing in five games vs the Heat in 2022 and six games against the Celtics in 2023.
This year marked the first time since 2020 that the team missed out on the playoffs after losing to the Chicago Bulls last month in the play-in tournament.
