The Boston Celtics may find themselves uneasy despite being on the verge of advancing to the Eastern Conference Semifinals after winning Game 4 of their first-round series against the Miami Heat, 102-88, to take a 3-1 series lead on Monday, April 29, at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida.
Celtics star Kristaps Porzingis suffered a non-contact injury to his right leg, signaling potential trouble that could indicate the dreaded Achilles rupture.
However, there is temporary relief, as early indications suggest that the 28-year-old has not incurred an Achilles injury, according to league insider Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
The Latvian center is scheduled to undergo imaging on Tuesday, April 30, to determine the full extent of his injury.
Porzingis exited the game late in the second quarter, visibly limping in the preceding plays before leaving the court.
Kristaps Porzingis assures that he is okay
Celtics fans may find reassurance in Porzingis' social media post, where he further assured everyone that he is okay.
"good W tonight. DWhite is special!! Thanks for all the support, will be good [flex emoji]," the former NBA All-Star said on X, formerly Twitter.
The Celtics can clinch the series at home with a win in Game 5, scheduled for Wednesday, May 1 at the TD Garden.
