Major League Baseball has announced in a memo to the players that they are already working on addressing concerns regarding the team uniforms for the 2024 season, which have garnered negative reviews from both players and fans.

The alterations, set to be implemented no later than the start of the 2025 season, are expected to address various issues with team uniforms, as reported by league insider Jeff Passan of ESPN.

Among the issues slated for correction are enlarging the lettering on the backs of jerseys, fixing the mismatched gray pants and uniforms, addressing the visibility of sweat, and resolving see-through pants, especially on white uniforms.

"This has been entirely a Nike issue. At its core, what has happened here is that Nike was innovating something that didn't need to be innovated," the memo read.

Before the beginning of the 2024 season, Nike revealed their new Vapor Premier template for all MLB uniforms.

Complaints on the new Nike MLB template

In addition to the corrections mentioned, fans have also complained about the low quality of stitching and lettering on fan replica jerseys.

Furthermore, some players have expressed that the new jerseys resemble knockoffs found in department store chains like TJ Maxx.

The current Vapor Premier template replaced the Majestic Athletic FlexBase template, which had been used since 2005 and was passed on to Nike when they assumed MLB's uniform contract in 2020.
