The New Orleans Pelicans were convincingly defeated by the Oklahoma City Thunder, with a final score of 124-92, in Game 2 of their first-round playoff series on Wednesday, April 24, at the Paycom Center in Oklahoma City.

One contributing factor that tilted the game in the Thunder's favor was the eight offensive foul calls against the Pelicans.

Pelicans head coach Willie Green expressed his dissatisfaction with these particular calls.

"I saw a lot of flopping, to be honest with you. A lot of flopping," the 42-year-old tactician said in the post-game interview.

The Pelicans' eight offensive fouls were just part of the team's 17 turnovers during what proved to be a challenging evening.

Jonas Valenciunas led New Orleans in scoring, tallying 19 points on 8-of-14 shooting while securing seven rebounds and distributing four assists.

The Pelicans mightily struggled in Game 2 vs the Thunder

The Pelicans' blowout loss in Game 2 is a stark turnaround from Game 1, where they narrowly lost 94-92, with CJ McCollum missing a game-winning three-pointer last Sunday, April 21.

During Game 2, the Thunder's active defense outmatched the Pelicans, leading to a 31-point deficit midway through the fourth quarter and prompting both teams to empty their benches.

Game 3 between the Pelicans and the Thunder is scheduled for Saturday, April 27, at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.
