San Antonio Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama politely turned down an offer from rap sensation Drake during a concert because of a demand the Frenchman had made that the musician's team did not accommodate.

Former NBA player and current ESPN analyst JJ Redick shared this while appearing on Carmelo Anthony's "7 PM in Brooklyn Podcast."

"There was a Drake concert in Austin and [Wembanyama] got asked to come up onstage.. Wemby was like, 'Can my teammates come up onstage with me? 'Cause they are going to be at the concert with me.' And Drake's camp was like, 'No.' And [Wemby's] like, 'Then I don't want to do it.," the sharpshooter said.

Drake's last concert in Austin, Texas, was in September 2023, the presumed timing of Reddick's story. He performed at another concert in San Antonio in March 2024, but, likely, Wembanyama did not attend due to the ongoing NBA season.

Drake came out with another NBA star in Austin instead

Despite Wembanyama refusing Drake's offer, the Canadian star still took the stage with one of the NBA's top players at his Austin concert.

The five-time Grammy Award winner was joined by Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant, with whom he shares a close relationship.

Durant was also credited as an executive producer on Drake's latest studio album, "For All The Dogs," released in October 2023.
