Rockets Center Slaps Dillon Brooks With Blunt Message After Ejection: 'This Ain't Memphis'

Houston Rockets center Jock Landale delivered a firm message to his teammate Dillon Brooks following Brooks' ejection in their recent home game against the Chicago Bulls on Thursday, March 21 at the Toyota Center.

Despite the initial stern message, the 6-foot-11 big man emphasized the importance of Brooks' presence on the team.

"Dillon Brooks, if you're listening. This ain't Memphis, man. Stop getting yourself ejected. We need you out here. We need that physicality," the 28-year-old Australian said during the post-game interview.

Midway through the third quarter, tensions escalated when Bulls star DeMar DeRozan forcefully brought down Rockets guard Jalen Green to the floor near midcourt in what seemed to be a frustration foul.

Brooks, renowned in the NBA for his tough and gritty style of play, promptly stepped in to defend his teammate and confronted DeRozan.

This led to a physical altercation, during which teammates and coaches had to separate Brooks and DeRozan. While no punches were thrown, both players were ejected from the game.

Houston Rockets continue stellar run

The Rockets ultimately won by 127-117, extending their winning streak to seven games.

This accomplishment ties them with the Boston Celtics for the longest active winning streak in the entire league.

The Rockets have now positioned themselves within the play-in range, boasting a win-loss record of 34-35. They are currently 2.5 games behind the 10th-seeded Golden State Warriors.
