Kick Sauber Brighten Up the F1 Grid

A team that seemed to have slipped under the radar in the Bahrain Grand Prix would be the other rebranded Kick Sauber F1 team. The race was overall boring for this team but they did have an unexpected battle for points in the race.

Chinese driver Zhou Guanyu found himself trying to hold off the resurgent Aston Martin piloted by Lance Stroll for the final point in P10. Guanyu ultimately fell victim to the Aston Martin, showing that Kick Sauber's pace is not quite there yet to consistently battle for points; but they may be able to steal some here and there.

The team did not do well in qualifying, Valtteri Bottas grabbing P16 and Zhou at P17. Despite this poor qualifying session, Zhou found himself content in the fight for points on race day, while Bottas was left wanting more after a painfully long pit stop knocked him out of any decent positioning.
