The New Look Dallas Mavericks have been quick to make an impact.

Just a few days removed from the NBA trade deadline, the Mavericks (31-23) are riding high on a five-game winning streak, climbing up the ranks in a loaded Western Conference.

Throughout their winning streak, the Mavs have picked up some big wins against some of the best teams in the league. Teams such as the Knicks, Sixers, and even a 146-110 win against the third-seeded Thunder.

Dallas has found different ways to win during their recent hot streak, either coming from behind or dominating their opponents. They are moving in the right direction and are picking up some good momentum heading into the all-star weekend.

Dallas Mavericks Trade Deadline Moves Paying Off

During the NBA Trade deadline, the Mavericks moved to acquire PJ Washington from the Charlotte Hornets and Daniel Gafford from the Wizards. Both moves have given the Mavericks a significant boost providing pivotal role players.

Gafford, who has been playing in place of rookie big man Derrick Lively II who has been out with a broken nose injury, has looked great since being traded to the Mavericks. He dropped 19 points and nine rebounds in the Mavs match-up against the Thunder, and he followed that up with a 16-point and 17-rebound performance against the Washington Wizards.

PJ Washington has also proved to be a solid right off the bat, dropping 14 points against the Thunder and nine points against the Wizards.

Dallas Mavericks: Roster Clicking

So far this season, the Dallas Mavericks have been competitive behind another MVP caliber season from Luka Doncic, averaging 34.6 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 9.6 assists per game.

Kyrie Irving, when healthy, has been a big time player for the Mavericks, averaging 25.2 points, 5.21 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game.

Role players like rookie big man Derrick Lively II have been one of the standouts from the 2023 NBA Draft and provided an interior force for the Mavs. Josh Green and Jaden Hardy have been the perfect complimentary pieces around the Mavericks two stars as well.
