Tennis is regarded as the most lucrative sport for women; naturally, the lady earning the most from a professional career is the one dominating the sport.

Serena Williams' net worth in 2023 earned her a spot in the world's Top 50 wealthiest athletes, the only woman on the list.

She is not the one who has the most Grand Slam titles; that is Margaret Court, who got 24 against her 23. Still, she is recognized as one of those who revolutionized female tennis.

Athletes worldwide hauled a record $3.5 billion this year, and $45.3 million went to Serena Williams. She is the only woman on that list at 49th, leaving questions about how female athletes continue to receive unfair treatment.

Williams would have earned more if women's pay was equal to their male counterparts.

Still, there is no denying that the now-retired tennis pro is the richest among female sports stars.

Serena Williams Net Worth 2023: $300 Million

Celebrity Net Worth estimated the American legend's 2023 net worth at $300 million.

However, only $94 million came from her prize for playing professional tennis. Much of her earnings came from endorsements as a female sports icon.

On average, she took home $40 million annually from playing in various tournaments.

Her parents - father, to be specific - introduced her and older sister Venus to the sport. Their family moved to Florida to focus on developing their tennis school.

They initially wanted Serena to make her debut at the age of 16, but it took place two years earlier. From then on, the young Williams became a force to be reckoned with.

She stands alone at the summit of the biggest take-home among all female tennis players.

Williams is regarded as the most bankable endorsement in sports or show business. She reportedly earned $15-$20 million from endorsing brands alone.

The biggest partner she has is Nike, with whom she signed in 2004. The $40 million deal included creating a fashion line inspired by the female tennis GOAT.

In her first five years as a pro, she worked with PUMA for $13 million, but Nike outbid the German outfit.

She continues to be an effective endorser even if she has been retired for two years. Aside from Nike, she also endorsed Sporting Goods, Anheuser-Busch InBev, Audemars Piguet, Hanes, Subway, and luxury brand Gucci.

She is also an astute businessperson.

Among her ventures is Will Perform, a one-year-old startup creating products to relieve topical pain and muscle and skin care. She also owns a stake in the National Football League team Miami Dolphins.

She is also into the media business, launching the Nine Two Six Productions.

She and her sister Venus also own a house in Miami, Florida, and another she owns in Bel-Air.
