Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen resurrects his team's playoff chances along with a convincing argument for his MVP ranking.  He may not have blown up the stat box, but if he and the Bills can complete this playoff run; Allen can definitely state his case for MVP.  Here's three reasons as to why Josh Allen deserves to be in the final sprint for the 2023 NFL MVP race.

Electrifying to Watch: Josh Allen Plays Like An NFL MVP

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen entertains us with mind blowing plays week in and week out.  Whether it be last week against the Kansas City Chiefs on a tiptoe pass down the sideline or this week with an angry run carrying defenders.  Allen showcases all the tools of a generational franchise quarterback with his dual-threat ability..  His arm strength and ability to zip the ball into any window is only matched by the reigning 2022 NFL MVP quarterback Patrick Mahomes.  While his running style is similar to former Carolina Panthers quarterback and 2015 league MVP Cam Newton.

No Jaw Dropping Stats Compared to NFL MVP Standards, But Josh Allen Still Wins Big Games

Josh Allen hasn't posted super special stats this season, but in the last two games has proved he can come up with the most important stat, wins.  Last week Allen faced off against Mahomes and the Chiefs and defeated them in an upset win.  And then following into this week, Allen, although taking a back seat this week to Bills running back James Cook, came away with a convincing win against the playoff contending Dallas Cowboys.  The Bills quarterback did still contribute to a few timely and highlight worthy plays in this blowout win over the Cowboys.  The Bills stand at ninth in the tight AFC playoff race with a record of 8-6, about a half game out of the wild card spot and only two games behind AFC East division leader Miami Dolphins.

Arguments Against Josh Allen as NFL MVP

Allen has carried the Bills offense to many victories but also been at the helm of heartbreak.  The gunslinger may be third in passing touchdowns this season, but is second in interceptions as well.  The Bills lacking a consistent run game sometimes causes Allen to go into survival mode and start ripping the ball into windows that don't exist, leading to turnovers.  As seen in the Week 15 game against the Cowboys, if the Bills can alleviate some of the pressure put onto Allen, his game cleans up and only Josh's better half shows up to play.
