The Kansas City Chiefs face the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 11, which is also a rematch between the two protagonists of Super Bowl LVII. Patrick Mahomes of the Chiefs and Jalen Hurts of the Eagles will be in the spotlights; two players tipped to vie for the 2023 NFL MVP.
Sportsbooks have different odds on the 2023 NFL MVP race. Hurts holds a slight edge over Mahomes per DraftKings Sportsbook via the Pro Football Network, +280 against +330.
Over at BetMGM via USA Today, Mahomes and Hurts are given similar +300 odds.

These numbers are subject to change, depending on the Chiefs vs. Eagles clash that is ongoing as of this writing. The quarterback on the team that comes out victorious is likely to gain.
Other players in the 2023 NFL MVP race
While the race is down to Hurts and Mahomes, other players are also vying for the 2023 NFL MVP Award. They are:
- Lamar Jackson (Baltimore Ravens)
- Tua Tagovailoa (Miami Dolphins)
- Brock Purdy (San Francisco 49ers)
Jackson, the 2019 NFL MVP, could make a serious case if the Baltimore Ravens can make a good run to the NFL playoffs. He is given a similar +330 odds of winning it alongside Mahomes via Fan Duel.
Tagovailoa cannot be counted out as well. He has been playing well for the Dolphins, and Miami is also on a good run this NFL season. It would be a fitting individual award for the 2022 NFL passer rating leader, considering he almost considered retirement due to multiple concussions, CBS Sports reported.
Tagovailoa is given a +600 chance of winning the NFL MVP plum.
Purdy is not doing badly either for the Niners, although he will need to do more to increase his odds. He is given a +1600 chance, meaning it would take a lot for him to cop the award.
Although his Week 11 performance is worth considering, it does not show how he has performed overall this season.
NFL MVP odds race special mentions
Other names in the 2023 NFL MVP race are C.J. Stroud (+1800) of the Houston Texans and Christian McCaffrey (+2000), also of the Niners, per the DraftKings Sportsbook.
Although several names are in the mix for the prestigious 2023 NFL MVP award, it all boils down to Hurts and Mahomes based on their respective runs thus far.
