Aaron Rodgers of the New York Jets may not be on the field, but he makes his football presence felt in other ways. He has been frequently seen sharing his thoughts on "The Pat McAfee Show" in what most perceived as a favor to Pat McAfee.

But as it turns out, the 39-year-old's appearances are not free. He is being paid a lofty amount, believed to be more than seven figures a year, to appear on the show, the New York Post reported.

"Aaron has made over $1,000,000 with us, for sure," McAfee told The Post.

With an astronomical amount needed to have Rodgers on the show, most wonder where McAfee would get that kind of money to pay him. Considering that McAfee is media-savvy, that fee will likely originate from the global fee that ESPN is paying the former Indianapolis Colts punter, NBC Sports suggested.

Aaron Rodgers racking in more money even when injured

Rodgers is a popular figure who can easily rake in millions even if he is not on the field, and his alleged pay only adds to his net worth.

Aaron Rodgers' net worth for 2023 is already pegged to be at $200 million, and that is expected to get higher through his endorsements outside his NFL compensation. This alleged more than $7 million only raises his stock.

Will Rodgers be back this NFL season?

Rodgers continues to recuperate from a torn Achilles injury, and it remains unclear if he can return to help the Jets.

There is optimism that he can miraculously return thanks to advanced technology and religiously rehabbing his injury. But before entertaining that thought, the Jets need to find a way to survive riding on the shoulders of Zach Wilson.

The Jets are 2-3 so far this season, winning their last assignment against the struggling Denver Broncos, 31-21 on Sunday, October 9.
