The Cleveland Cavaliers backcourt duo of Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland were among the many sports personalities praying for Nick Chubb of the Cleveland Browns.

The 27-year-old running back is reportedly done for the season after suffering a knee injury that was so bad that ESPN refused to replay it.

"Praying for you, bro @NickChubb," Mitchell said on Twitter. For his part, Garland posted: "Chubb."

The Cavaliers backcourt duo joins a long list of concerned folks, including another former Cavaliers star, LeBron James.

The Los Angeles Lakers star put up a post that read: "DAMN MAN!!!! ️. Nick Chubb. Praying for the absolute best."

The Browns went on to lose to the Pittsburgh Steelers, 22-26, ESPN reported.

Coach Kevin Stefanski confirmed to reporters that Chubb will miss the rest of the season, the Associated Press reported. He declined to get into detail on Chubb's injury. However, the team fears that the four-time Pro Bowler may have suffered multiple tears in his knee, per a source.

It was added that the injured left knee of Chubb is the same one he had reconstructed after tearing his MCL, PCL, and LCL while at Georgia in 2015.

Chubb had already totaled 64 rushing yards on 10 carries. He had rushed for more than 1,000 yards in four straight seasons, including a career-high 1,525 yards last year, ESPN added.

Looking ahead, it will be interesting to see how the Browns' offense will run. Jerome Ford took the place of Chubb. However, All-Pro guard Joel Bitonio admitted their offense missed the 27-year-old sorely, especially in the second half.

"He's a great teammate, he works hard, a great person," Bitonio said. "To see him go down ... it's tough. ... It's a big loss."
