Saul "Canelo" Alvarez is one of the best pound-for-pound boxers in the world, having held the undisputed championship of the super middleweight division since 2021.

The Mexican fighter has arguably been the sport's biggest draw since the retirements of previous boxing superstars Floyd Mayweather Jr., Manny Pacquiao, and Oscar De La Hoya, and he has translated that star power to dominance inside the squared circle.

With his fights generating millions in pay-per-view and gate revenue, many have raised the question - What is Saul "Canelo" Alvarez's net worth in 2023?

The 33-year-old Alvarez is worth $200 million as of 2023, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

Business magazine Forbes listed Alvarez as the fifth highest-paid athlete in the world in their latest rankings, making $110 million for the past year.

Almost all of the mentioned figures were from his payouts from boxing matches at $100 million, while the remaining $10 million comes from endorsements.

The Guadalajara, Mexico native has endorsement deals with Everlast, Louis Vuitton, Hennessy, Dolce & Gabanna, and Mexican beer Tecate.

Alvarez has made an estimated $460 million during his career from purses and endorsements, valued at $525 million adjusted for inflation in 2023, according to Sportico.

The undisputed super middleweight champion of the world received an estimated $38 million for his lone fight in 2023 against John Ryder last May, including fight purse and pay-per-view revenue share, as per Sportspayouts.com.

Alvarez notably took $10 million less to stage his latest fight in his home country, Mexico, according to boxing promoter Eddie Hearn.

During his two bouts last year, the Mexican prizefighter was paid $38 million for his May 2022 loss against Russian Dmitry Bivol and $45 million for his third and final fight against Kazakhstani Gennady Golovkin in September 2022, which resulted in a win.

Alvarez signed richest contract in sports history

Alvarez signed a five-year, 11-fight deal worth $365 million with sports streaming service DAZN in 2018 for exclusive rights to the matches of the sport's biggest draw.

The agreement was the richest contract in sports history known at that time. It remains the sixth-largest contract in sports to this day.

However, the two parties canceled the deal after just three fights in 2020 following disagreements about the boxer's next opponent and dispute over the financial rewards involved.

Since then, Alvarez became a boxing free agent for the next few years, but he continued to stage his fights on DAZN with the help of promotion Matchroom Boxing, albeit on short-term deals.

New short term PBC contract

Last June, Alvarez agreed to a three-fight deal worth about $100 million with promoter Al Haymon's Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) series, which will begin with a bout against American Jermell Charlo on September 30.

The fight will be broadcast on pay-per-view on Showtime, which marks a drastic change after nine of Alvarez's last ten matches were available via DAZN.
