Chris Paul is all set to don the Golden State Warriors jersey for the first time this 2023-24 NBA season, although his actual role on the team has yet to be defined.

However, pundits believe the 12-time All-Star could end up starting for the Dubs this coming NBA season.

While that would make sense considering Paul has been around and has proven his playmaking and leadership abilities, it will be in a controlled manner, according to Marc Spears of Andescape when he spoke on a recent episode of the "Balls Don't Lie" podcast.

"I do expect him to start. And I think it's like five-minute spurts," the scribe said. "I don't know that they really want his minutes to be high, but I think they're gonna try it. I could be wrong, but that's the jist I'm getting. This isn't an opinion that he's expected to start; it's what I'm hearing. He's never not started in his career."

As of this writing, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr has not decided how his team's starting lineup will look. The 57-year-old prefers to see first at training camp what combination would be best for the Golden State Warriors, ESPN reported.

CP3 NBA title chances look promising

Starting Paul but on managed minutes makes sense, considering he has had his share of injuries and health issues. Either way and even at 38 years old, there is no denying that Chris Paul continues to be an asset.

He proved this when he joined the Phoenix Suns. Although most felt he had little left, the 2006 NBA Rookie of the Year was a vital cog in the Suns' runner-up finish in the 2021 NBA Finals against the Milwaukee Bucks.

With the Warriors surrounded by players like Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Andrew Wiggins, Chris Paul's chances of winning his first NBA title never looked so good.
