The Philadelphia 76ers are set to bring back sharpshooting guard Danny Green on a one-year deal, according to league insider Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

The 36-year-old spent the 2022-23 NBA season with the Memphis Grizzlies and the Cleveland Cavaliers, wherein he played 11 games across the two teams - three with the Grizzlies and eight with the Cavs while averaging 5.5 points and 1.3 rebounds in 12.6 minutes.

Green is a three-time NBA champion, having won a ring with the San Antonio Spurs in 2014, the Toronto Raptors in 2019, and the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020.

The former North Carolina Tar Heel was also an All-NBA Defensive Second Team selection in 2017.

The Cleveland Cavaliers selected Green with the 46th overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft.

Danny Green had a previous stint in Philadelphia

Green previously played for the Sixers during the 2020-21 and 2021-22 NBA campaigns.

The 14-year NBA veteran also played for the Sixers' new head coach, Nick Nurse, while he was mentoring the Raptors in 2018-19, wherein they were able to capture the Larry O'Brien Championship Trophy in the 2019 NBA Finals against the Golden State Warriors in six games.

Green also maintains a strong relationship with Sixers star and reigning NBA MVP Joel Embiid, who accidentally crashed on his leg during a playoff game in 2022, which caused Green to tear both the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and lateral cruciate ligament (LCL) on his left knee.
