The Denver Broncos used the NFL offseason to make the necessary adjustments, anchored on Sean Payton, who was hired earlier this year to replace Nathaniel Hackett.

There is no other player that Payton will need to get back on track other than Russell Wilson. The Super Bowl champion quarterback was acquired from the Seahawks in March 2022 in a massive trade, Denverbroncos.com reported.

Being a proven winner, the Broncos hope to get back into the playoffs and possibly a Super Bowl title. However, things didn't pan out as expected for Denver last NFL season.

With Payton now in tow, the Super Bowl champion coach hopes to infuse new life into the Broncos organization. That starts with fine-tuning Wilson and hoping the nine-time Pro Bowler can recall his old form.

Payton bats that he hardly sees any physical issues tied to Wilson and is confident that the 34-year-old play-caller can get his act together for the Denver Broncos, Heavy.com reported.

"I don't see any physical limitation that's different from 2020 or 2021. I see that player," Payton said. "I would say this, he's going to be a lot closer to those 2021 numbers than he was the 2022 numbers, just because I'm seeing it."

Wilson was hardly in sync with the team in his first season with the Broncos, bringing his staff aside from team employees, The Athletic reported. In all, Wilson had his way with the team.

With Payton on board, things are expected to be different. The 59-year-old knows how to deal with quarterbacks. Among the names he dealt with in the past include Drew Brees, Jameis Winston, and Teddy Bridgewater.

Now, he will be adding Russell Wilson to that list. If he is successful, there is no reason why the Broncos cannot compete for a Super Bowl once more, CBS Sports reported.
