The Indianapolis Colts are waiting on credible offers for Pro Bowl running back Jonathan Taylor, and so far, nothing has come to being closed. The deadline set by the team is Tuesday, August 29, so the next couple of hours will be interesting.

About six NFL teams expressed interest in the 24-year-old New Jersey native, two of whom had already made offers.

It may all boil down to what kind of offer will be pitched to the Colts, according to NFL Insider Ian Rapoport when he appeared on the Pat McAfee Show. He believes there is genuine interest and that an NFL trade will likely go down soon.

"There is real interest in Jonathan Taylor, and I would say it's likely he gets traded. As long as the offer is good enough, I think a trade probably gets done," Rapoport quipped.

If the Colts cannot get the assets they demand in exchange for Taylor, the chances of seeing the 2021 First-team All-Pro sticking it out in Indianapolis are not good. The 24-year-old RB will likely don a new uniform when the 2023 NFL season unfurls.

The deadline set by the Colts is at 4:00 p.m. ET on August 29.

Taylor is one of the best running backs in the league when healthy. He underwent ankle surgery in January, which forced him to miss six games last NFL season.

Hunt on Colts' radar

Should a deal materialize, the Colts may divert their attention to Kareem Hunt, who is currently a free agent.

The 2017 NFL rushing yards leader was in Indianapolis last week, but no deal was struck with the two sides failing to reach an agreement, Adam Schefter of ESPN reported.

That scenario could change once Jonathan Taylor finds a new home.
