Miami Dolphins star Tyreek Hill uses an unconventional method to learn about his opponents before he faces them.
The 29-year-old told reporters on Thursday that with the help of the popular Madden NFL video game series, he can scout his opposing cornerbacks before every game.
The NFL 2010s All-Decade Team member thinks that Madden has a good tell of how good players are, and he plays Madden the night before games and looks at all the players' ratings for his upcoming matchups.
Hill used examples to explain his point, saying that if his team is about to face the Houston Texans, he will check the attributes of their cornerbacks, Steven Nelson and Derek Stingley Jr.
"I just get on Madden, I go to the EA rosters and then I scroll down to see what their awareness is, their speed is and their strength and that's how I get a good tell on them," the seven-time Pro Bowl selection said.
The NFL Madden video game series has existed since 1988, and they officially acquired a license from the league to use real names and teams in 1993. It is named after the late former NFL coach and sports broadcaster John Madden.
The series became the league's only officially licensed video game series since 2004, and it has become among the best-selling video game franchise of all time, with 130 million copies sold as of 2018.
The latest edition of the video game series, Madden NFL 24, was released on August 18, 2023, with Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen on the cover.

Tyreek Hill is one of the best wide receivers in the NFL
As for the player, he has the second-best rating for wide receivers in the latest edition of the video game series, Madden NFL 24. Hill has a 98 overall rating, with a game-best 99 attribute in speed.
Justin Jefferson of the Minnesota Vikings is the wide receiver with the highest rating in the game. The 2022 NFL Offensive Player of the Year has a 99 overall rating.
Hill was traded to the Miami Dolphins before the 2022 season after a highly successful five-season stint with the Kansas City Chiefs, the team that drafted him in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft with the 165th overall pick.
He helped Kansas City win the Super Bowl LIV in early 2020, and he was named to the First Team All-Pro thrice during his time with the team.
Meanwhile, the Dolphins made him the league's highest-paid wide receiver and highest-paid non-quarterback at the time of his signing.
Hill signed a massive four-year, $120 million extension upon his arrival in Miami. He went on to make his seventh Pro Bowl game in a row and his fourth selection in the First Team All-Pro during his first season in South Beach in 2022, which was arguably the best season of his career.
