The Seattle Seahawks beat the New England Patriots in a closely fought game 24-23 Sunday.

Quarterback Russell Wilson led a fourth quarter comeback to help his side edge the fancied Tom Brady and the Patriots. With just a couple of minutes remaining, Wilson found the Seahawks' wide receiver Sidney Rice for a 46-yard touchdown.

Wilson played cleverly faking a handoff and looking deep. He found Rice for a 46-yard touchdown who ended the game in style.

Rice said: "It was a heck of a throw. When I came out of my break, the whole time I was looking at the ball in the air and it was so pretty. I was just running, I was like 'You've got to catch up to it, you've got to catch up to it,' and I was able to track it down."

As for Wilson it was the best day of his career finishing 16 of 27 for 293 yards. "I think I'm always comfortable no matter the situation, I think I'm just more experienced. Being in those situations you have to trust what you see, you have to be quick with your decisions, but also believe in your decisions and just be decisive with the football."

Earl Thomas, the Seattle safety added on Wilson: "If guys didn't believe in him, I guarantee they believe in him now."

The Seahawks did well to rally from a deficit of 23-10 to overcome New England in the final moments of the game. The 68,000-strong crowd rose to its feet to celebrate the unbelievable turnaround by their home team.

Earlier in the game, Wilson got New England within 23-17 when he hit Braylon Edwards for a 10-yard touchdown.

A lot of credit goes to head coach Pete Carroll for showing confidence in his defense. They went three and out with just 3:20 remaining in the game clock and Carroll took the risky decision of giving possession back to New England. It worked for the Seahawks.

Bobby Wagner, the Seattle linebacker said: "I wasn't surprised. As a defense we want the game on our shoulders. We have the confidence in us. We know Pete has the confidence in us."
