A Las Vegas court has sentenced former Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Henry Ruggs for his role in a car crash that killed a woman named Tina Tintor and her dog.

The 2020 no. 12 draft pick expressed regret and remorse for the accident, saying he let down people who believed in him.

He also apologized to the family of the victim.

"To the parents and family of Ms. Tintor, I sincerely apologize for the pain and suffering my actions the morning of Nov. 2, 2021 have caused you, your family and those who knew Ms. Tina and Max," he said during the court trial.

"I let my family, my teammates and those who believed in me down with my actions and hurt so many."

The accident took place on November 21. Ruggs was at a party before TopGolf in Las Vegas before the incident.

Police reports stated Ruggs was speeding drunk at 156 mph in an area with a speed limit of 45 mph. He crashed into the back of the car of Tinton at 127 mph. The victim, according to the report, burned to death.

Ruggs' career gone for good?

A 46-year prison time was previously expected to be handed to Ruggs, but it has been reduced to 3-10 years.

He is only 24 years old and was featured in Raiders' every game since his rookie year.

If he ever gets released early, he might have a chance to play again. However, his leg injury from the car crash will be a huge factor.

It can be remembered that Michael Vick was also sent to jail for dog fighting but still managed to return to the NFL.
