Boston Red Sox Coach Alex Cora Finds Aaron Boone's Antics Entertaining; Says He Will Pay for His Fines

New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone tried to get in the face of the umpire to make his feelings known in the loss to the Chicago White Sox, and subsequently, he got ejected.

Boone shouted curses at Laz Diaz during the 8th inning, drew something in the home plate, and imitated the umpire's moves.

He sure took advantage of his money's worth, and this resonated with some coaches around the league, like Alex Cora of the Boston Red Sox.

Cora found Boone awesome and entertaining for his antics. He even offered to pay the fines his Yankees counterpart would receive because of his emotional outburst.

"I talked to him today," Cora told reporters after their match with the Chicago Cubs.

"I can't...I get upset and all that (with umpires), but he's so good at that, you know, the impersonations. He's awesome, he's awesome. That was really good. I told him the hips were really good. He got it right. He friggin' got it right. I'd call Mike (Hill, senior vice president of on-field operations for MLB) and I'll probably pay half the fine. 'We got it, we got it.'"

Boone and Mets' frustration

Boone's frustration resonated with other managers, but that's the last thing you want to identify with him.

The Mets season is crashing as they fell to fourth place in the NL East table.

Boone said his outburst was not really about the umpire but more about the way they played and have been playing in the second half.

"It's on us to still break through," he said. "We had our chances tonight. It's not about the umpiring. We've got to capitalize."
