A documentary titled "Destination NBA: A G League Odyssey" was released today, featuring the best players who found success in the semi-pro league's program.

The NBA has seen success stories of players who bet on themselves, and G-League has been instrumental in carving a path to the best basketball league in the world, the latest of which is Portland Trail Blazers rookie Scoot Henderson.

Henderson was selected third by the Blazers last June behind Victor Wembanyama and Brandon Miller, who were chosen as no. 1 and no. 2, respectively.

Unlike those two, Henderson believes he had more time going up against NBA-level players because of G-League Ignite.

"I'm the most prepared player in the draft. That's what I say," he said.

"The fact that I went there for two years just taught me so much. On the court, as well, but a lot of things off the court. I learned how to be a pro off the court. Just so much time off and just trying to find what to do."

G-League Ignite's success in creating NBA prospects

G-League Ignite was founded in 2008 and has been serving as a platform for high schoolers and international players as their gateway to the NBA without being too focused on college.

Other top picks from this program were 2021 picks Jalen Green, who was selected by the Houston Rockets at no. 2, and Jonathan Kuminga, who was chosen by the Golden State Warriors in 2023.
