Atlanta Braves Ronald Acuña Jr. is tearing other teams apart as they continue to lord over the National League.

He could be the runaway NL MVP but who is his closest rival?

Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts thought two of his players should be up there with him when discussing MVP.

"I know Acuña is doing his thing over there, which is really impressive, but if you look at Freddie's ability to post, drive in runs, hit for average, slug, he's definitely in the MVP conversation," Roberts said. "And Mookie [Betts] is not far behind."

Freeman and Betts are both playing sensational this season and if an individual award play is determined through team standings, Dodgers have the second-best record in NL behind the Braves.

The duo showed just how good they are against the lowly Oakland Athletics.

Freeman recorded his 37th and 38th doubles and singles, the best in the league so far. On the other hand, Betts hit his 29th homer, a 436-foot shot, his longest since donning the Dodgers jersey.

Win vs. As is an indication of the Dodgers' quality

The Athletics have been bad the whole season, and the Dodgers were expected to win. They did, and a 10-1 victory for Roberts shows Dodgers are a cut above other teams.

"These are games we expect to win," Roberts said. "We're taking care of business and that's the sign of a very good ballclub."

The Dodgers are expected to roll and be a "very good ball club" in the next few weeks, are they are set to meet all the clubs below them in NL West, two of them under .500.
