Lucas Giolito has described his trade to the Los Angeles Angels as "real shocking."
The 29-year-old pitcher turned emotional talking about his departure from his team of seven years, saying he's seen and shared many moments with the city and the fans.
"I knew something like this was coming. At the same time, when it actually happens, it is quite a surreal moment. Last night was my last game as a White Sox."

"I mean a lot of emotions. I grew up here as a player and as a man. A lot of failures, a lot of success. I owe this organization so much. The city, the fans, it has been an absolute pleasure."
Giolito was traded to the Angels with Reynaldo Lopez, his teammate since 2016, starting from the Washington Nationals.
Halos GM reacts to Giolito acquisition
Giolito has been remarkable this season after an average 2022.
Angels general manager Perry Minasian thinks the club made a crucial move by acquiring Giolito to surround Shohei Ohtani with players that will help them achieve their first playoff appearance since 2014.
"[Ohtani] is a special player having a unique season with a team that has a chance to win," Minasian said Thursday.
"And to me, that's grounds for trying to improve the club. Whether it works or whether it doesn't, I can go to bed at night and say, 'You know what? We did this for the right reasons and we're giving ourselves a chance.' I'm excited to see how we play."
