Phoenix Suns superstar Kevin Durant shared how much he uses the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, after a rebranding by current owner Elon Musk.
The two-time champion was asked during the Game Plan event by CNBC and Boardroom if he believes that he runs NBA Twitter, and Durant enthusiastically responded, "I do."
Durant added that he enjoys spending time on the social media platform, particularly engaging with fans before working out or playing a game.
The 2014 NBA MVP noted that it is a unique opportunity to interact with your favorite player and hear firsthand thoughts. He also said that he couldn't seem to emulate fellow athletes who deleted social media to focus on a big event.
"When I turn my phone off or delete the app, I will still be thinking about what they may say, you know what I'm saying?," Durant said.
Durant also wants to see everything people have to say about him, whether it's a joke, criticism, or message. He also had some great conversations with fans about the game and was able to share a glimpse of his personality.
When asked if he preferred the old Twitter or its current iteration X under Elon Musk, Durant said he likes them all, including other platforms such as Instagram and Threads.
