Adrian Amos and Aaron Rodgers will find themselves again on the same side as they are now both part of the New York Jets, a season after departing the Green Bay Packers as long-time teammates.

Some players will say, "God made it happen," while others will probably credit the "football gods."

None of those reasons for Amos, who was signed last month by the Jets. To him, he only ended up with his new team because it is close to his home.

"Throughout the offseason, it was just trying to find the best fit for me," he told reporters.

"Going into Year 9, you want to find a place that I can thrive and continue my career. It's close to home since I'm from Baltimore and that's a quick drive up the road."

Amos played three seasons with Aaron Rodgers at Green Bay. The 30-year-old strong safety was picked up by the Jets after Chuck Clark suffered a torn ACL during the team's OTAs.

Earning a spot in the first team

While being around Rodgers is not new to him, playing from the lower tier of the roster sure is.

Amos will need to prove himself once again. He knows it, and playing with a chip in the shoulder is not new to him since he was picked 142nd overall by the Chicago Bears in 2015.

"That's just my mentality, but right now it's the first time I've seen all the plays and what everything was when I got here a couple of days ago," he said.

"The first time I walked through anything. It's very understandable for me to not be with the ones all the time, right away."
